During a two-week open studio at the Henry, Seattle native David Herbert will be working on a new installation specific to the Puget Sound region. In conjunction with his open studio in the East Galleries, the artist will host a casual screening, on Saturday, July 9th from 12:00-3:00 PM, of some of his most recent short films and share his passion for art-making by inviting attendees to create a new work.
Following the screening participants are invited to join the artist for an afternoon of collaborative video sculpture. The result of this impromptu production will be featured on Hankblog and made available to watch in the Henry’s Student Technology Lounge during the exhibition, opened July 5th through October 9th.
Intermediate Messages will be held in the Student Technology Lounge and is led by David Herbert himself and facilitated by DXArts graduate Bronwyn Lewis. For students and Henry members, yay it’s FREE; for the general pubic it’s a well-worth-it $5.
