Fashion Loves Art, Art Loves Fashion

At the Henry, we love both!
The first section of the new Digital Interactive Gallery, featuring Costumes and Textiles, is up and celebrates the connections between art and fiber-based objects. Check out this beautiful 1950’s evening gown by American fashion designer Norman Norell, made for Lauren Bacall. (!!!) You might recognize Bacall from such films as To Have and Have Not (1944) and The Big Sleep (1946).
Jump on in and search Norell, Dior, Chanel and more using our collections search.
