Here, There, and Everywhere.

It may be planned, it may just be coincidence, but Patti Smith seems to be popping up everywhere. Long time friend of Robbert Mapplethorpe her image naturally appears in many of his photographs, here at the Henry  you can find her in the the Polaroids: Mapplethorpe exhibition in the North Galleries.

The “godmother of punk” was also spotted in Seattle photographer David Belisle’s recent photo show at Easy Street Records alongside local artist Tiny Vipers, who Belisle recently photographed for her upcoming Release Life on Earth. During the shoot he likened her image that of a Young Patti Smith.

Coincidences continue with Smith’s upcomming performance for Seattle Arts & Lectures in January.
