The Friends of the Nib at Howard House

Friends of the Nib will be a three-day show presenting work by Seattle‚s Friends of the Nib, a group of local cartoonists who host a weekly salon at Café Racer in Ravenna. Founded by acclaimed artists Jim Woodring and Robert Rini, frequent contributors to the group include Bruce Bickford, Ellen Forney, David Lasky, and many others. This show will feature a selection of their works on paper. Crowded on the walls of the front gallery, these works will themselves form a sort of free-range comic strip with images playing off one another and raising new associations by their accumulated viewing. The First Thursday opening will feature members of Friends of the Nib cartooning on-site while inviting visitor participation.
