The Henry is delighted to welcome Amie Siegel to Seattle! Her work will be featured in The Talent Show, an interactive exploration of themes related to notoriety, privacy, and the tension between exhibitionism and voyeurism against the backdrop of television’s reality shows and talent competitions, as well as web-based social media that create a new kind of stage, often for unwitting “participants.” This exhibition has already made appearances at MoMA PS1 and the Walker Art Center, and will be opening here at the Henry in Seattle in the Spring.
Two of Siegel’s films will be shown in a series called Cine-Constellation by the Northwest Film Forum next weekend on the 19th and 20th of this fine month of November as part of Third Eye Cinema, their quarterly film program dedicated to experimental film and direct animation. The first film, Empathy, role-reverses, putting psychoanalysts and psychoanalysis on the couch, and the second, DDR/DDR, explores the sociocultural complexity of former East Germany since reunification. The best part: the director will be in attendance for both showings to take questions. AND finally, about that f-bomb up at the top that you’ve been waiting for… we’re giving away two pairs of tickets for free! to the first people to respond with answers to the following question to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Q. How many minutes would you spend having coffee and dessert after the film you win tickets to if it were exactly the amount of minutes that is the difference between the lengths of the two films?
