TOWARDS A REFLEXIVE PRACTICE
Jennifer Yoos | VJAA
Jennifer Yoos is a principal of VJAA based in Minneapolis. The firm is known for its innovative approach to architectural practice, environmental design, and highly crafted buildings. Over the last fifteen years VJAA has received seventeen national design awards, including four National American Institute of Architects Honor Awards, six Progressive Architecture Awards, and two American Institute of Architects/Committee on the Environment Top Ten Green Building Awards.
Over the past twenty years Jennifer has practiced both independently and in firms in Minneapolis and London. She has practiced with VJAA since 1997 and has collaborated on the design of all the office’s projects over the past fourteen years.
Jennifer is also an adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota where she currently teaches design. She received her Graduate Diploma in Design from the Architectural Association in London and her professional degree in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. During 2002-2003 Jennifer was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
There will be an exhibit reception held in Architecture Hall 250 prior to the lecture at 5:30 pm. The lecture and reception are co-sponsored by the Mahlum Endowment and the UW Department of Architecture. Both events are free and open to the public.
