The new-music living legend returns to Seattle to present his improvisational “soundings,” acclaimed for extending the violinʼs tonal and textural possibilities. Active in New York since the early 1960s, Goldstein will play solo and with a Seattle ensemble.
Incidentally, and tangentially related to this exhibition, Goldstein and Carolee Schneeman have run in the same circles for decades.
James Tenney (who was Carolee’s partner and collaborator for many years – they appear together in the work Fuses) co-founded Tone Roads Chamber Ensemble with Goldstein in New York City in 1963. Goldstein was also a participant in the Judson Dance Theater.
Presented by Nonsequitur. Read all about it HERE.
