Liner Notes: Ed Ruscha

Hi there! For this week’s edition of Liner Notes I will be highlighting artist Ed Ruscha. Ruscha’s works, Unidentified Hit Record (1977), and Hit Record (1980) are both featured in the Record exhibition at the Henry.

You can view some of his selected works on the Broad Art Foundation site.

Watch Ed Ruscha hang out with Anthoy Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers:

Read this interview with Ruscha in The Telegraph where he takes a look back on his early career.

Watch this video from SFMoMA in which Ruscha discusses the similarities between his work and commercial art.

Check back next week for more info on the artists in The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl, which is on view at the Henry until October 7th. Thanks!

Marian
