Cairo! Second annual t-shirt design contest

Cairo, our beloved neighborhood music space/finely curated vintage shop/silk-screening studio/arts space (phew!) just announced their second annual t-shirt design contest! The deadline is fast approaching (April 10th) and the prize is 100 big ones. I think you should apply- they make beautiful things for all of us to enjoy.

Thousands of volunteers contributing to collective research? Hooray for collaboration!

This lecture from the UW Graduate School Lecture Series is coming up in a few weeks and it gets me all excited thinking about how new technologies can facilitate collaboration across all fields and especially the arts.

Strange Coupling 2012

Strange Coupling happens but once a year- and it opens this Thursday night!

This annual event pairs University of Washington art students with working artists in the Seattle area.  The couples have been hard at work on their collaborative projects in preparation for the unveiling at the beautiful Belltown space Object.  Opening reception starts at 7pm Thursday and the show will stay up through Saturday March 31st at 5pm.

This year features works by: Julie Alpert, Amanda James Parker, DK Pan, Dakota Erie Gearhart, Ryan Feddersen , Anthony Sonnenberg, Susie Lee, Roman Camarda, Amanda Manitach , Travis David Smith,
Troy Gua, Lacy Draper, Toshi Asai and Kathryn Lien.
